The mission of the Har Sinai Congregation Religious School is to provide an education for our children that will help them develop a strong and positive Jewish identity. We hope to instill in the children a sense of spirituality and a bond to the Jewish people and Israel through the study of Torah, Hebrew, Tefillah (prayer) and history; practice of mitzvot (commandments and values); celebration of Jewish holidays & life-cycle events; and, participation in the life of the Jewish community.
Through the use of creative programs, educational strategies and techniques, including music and art, teachers nurture the youth of Har Sinai Congregation families who cherish our sacred religion.
SPECIAL NEEDS AWARENESS
In keeping with our belief in Jewish education for all children, Har Sinai Congregation opens its doors to all Jewish children, regardless of physical or mental abilities, so they may participate in Religious School. Our role is to provide them with a continuing and positive identification with their Jewish heritage, and with the temple , and to promote a love of Judaism as a way of life.
GOALS OF REFORM JEWISH EDUCATION
Reform Jews believe that Judaism contains answers to the challenges and questions confronting the human spirit, and that a knowledgeable Jew can successfully discover these answers.
