DICK FORMAN -
e-mail
Former Rite Aid communications executive and music aficionado Charles “Dick” Forman recently became the new executive director of Har Sinai Congregation, the oldest continuously Reform synagogue in the United States.
“Dick Forman is no stranger to Har Sinai. As a trained instrumentalist and vocalist, he has served as a substitute in our choir many times in the last few years,” said Har Sinai Rabbi Bradd H. Boxman. “And now it’s a pleasure to welcome him as our new executive director. His corporate management and communications skills will be great asset to the leadership of this congregation.”
As the executive director of Har Sinai, Forman is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Temple, its facility and two cemeteries. This also includes the hiring and supervision of office and maintenance personnel, implementation of board policies, preparation and monitoring of the Temple budget, and the collection of all accounts receivable.
For most of his career, Forman served in several management and communications positions for Rite Aid Corporation. But prior to becoming Har Sinai’s executive director, Forman was a property manager for Brodie Management in Cockeysville. Earlier in his career, he worked in music sales and taught instrumental music for Baltimore City Public Schools.
Forman earned a teaching degree at University of Maryland, College Park, and also attended the Peabody Conservatory. He is a Baltimore native and currently resides in Pikesville, Md.
