DICK FORMAN -
e-mail
Executive Director Dick Forman serves in the capacity of Chief Operating Officer, with responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the temple. This is a broad charge, including building and grounds, two cemeteries, financial operations, program support, membership services, implementation of Board policies, human resources management, and general administrative responsibilities. He can be found nearly any day and at nearly any hour, overseeing every operational detail to insure that Har Sinai Congregation infrastructure is in place and that operations are seamless.
Yet the skill set that brought Dick to Har Sinai Congregation more than 35 years ago is his beautiful baritone voice, which has enriched our choir during all of these years. It was only in 2007, that his relationship grew into the COO, when he was hired as Executive Director. Since that time, whether Dick is helping families purchase cemetery lots for their loved ones, arranging the details for a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, or overseeing the budget review process, Dick’s imprint is seen throughout the organization. He is not just our administrator, he is part of the Har Sinai Congregation family.
Dick’s corporate management and communications skills have been a great asset to the lay leadership as well as the clergy team of the Congregation. Immediately prior to coming to Har Sinai Congregation as Executive Director, he was a property manager for Brodie Management in Cockeysville, and earlier in his career, he was a Rite Aid training executive. A talented musician, Dick plays French horn, worked in music sales, and taught instrumental music in Baltimore City Public Schools.
He earned a teaching degree at University of Maryland, College Park, and also attended the Peabody Conservatory. A Baltimore native, Dick and currently resides in Pikesville, MD with his lovely wife, Judy, who is also his partner in his temple endeavors.
