Welcome to Har Sinai, and thank you for your interest in our congregation. At Har Sinai, we worship in the Reform tradition and are proud of the fact that we are the oldest continuously Reform congregation in the United States. Over the years, we have seen many changes in the Reform movement, and we encourage our congregants to be open to the entire range of the Jewish religious experience. At Har Sinai we embrace innovation, while preserving tradition, and we invite you to worship with us.
We think you will find us a warm, caring and welcoming congregation as our size allows a sense of intimacy. Yet, we are large enough to provide all the necessary congregational resources.
We are a Congregation of Learners, and we believe in lifelong learning. Our educational programs go well beyond religious school and confirmation. There are many adult and family educational opportunities for our congregants, including adult bar and bat mitzvah classes.
Our worship services, especially designed for all segments of our congregation, are enhanced by the opportunity to explore a rich and varied repertoire of music and to introduce our congregants to as many different and lovely musical settings of our prayers as possible, while bearing in mind the attachment we feel for the "old familiar" tunes.
Our nursery school, religious school, bar and bat mitzvah program, confirmation class and youth group are all very strong and attest to the importance we place on our youth…our future.
We want to be there when you celebrate important life cycle events and to comfort you in times of sadness. We are truly a caring congregation and welcome you to join us at this very exciting time in our history as we prepare to move our facilities to Owing Mills to better serve the needs of our congregants.
